Public Comments

  1. Depends on how many shares they have out.You can research it on yahoo or google.
  2. The amount of a company you own depends on the total amount of shares that are issued. Every company would be different.
  3. It usually is only calculated in how many shares you own. A company like google is so large the % would come to be a negative number .0000001 for example. Percentage is used in buying as a major stock holder. Also the stock is a public owned portion of the company. There is still a portion owned and controlled by the corporation, which is why the share holders still do not totally control google. You only own the investment capital like how a bank would only own a car by the loan amount vested. They only own a percentage of the shares. 1% of Volume 5.98 Mil
  4. You own your shares divided by the total number of shares outstanding for the stock. For example, Google (GOOG) has 314.09 million shares outstanding. So for every single share you buy, you own 1/314.9mil of the company (percentage too small to write out). You can find the number of shares outstanding on many financial websites, such as Google Finance. Good luck.
  5. If Google has 100 shares then you own 1% If Google has 1000 shares then you own 0.1% If Google has 10000 shares then you own 0.01%... Most companies have billions of shares.
