How can I find value of 1959 stock share in company that has merged?

Found stock shares from National American Life from 1959 that my father had bought. This company merged with Pennsylvania Life in 93, and then Penn Life merged with Conseco. How do I trail values, ie. splits, etc. to find out if this has any current value?
