Is the "closing price" on typical stock charts the $US/per share?

I don't get this. I have to fill it in. 2/17/09: Stock Price/Share: (which is $9.65 per share) Total Value US$__________________?

1. The closing price is per share yes. If you bought one share that is roughly what you would pay.
